Broja “has no emotion” at Chelsea for usurping Aubameyang despite Potter’s push

Chelsea forward Armando Broja insists he feels “absolutely no pressure” to join the first team at Stamford Bridge because he is simply happy to play professional football.

Broja returned to Chelsea this summer after a successful loan spell with Southampton despite being heavily tied to leaving the club permanently.

MAILBOX: Eddie Howe has Newcastle exactly where they should be right now …

With Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku leaving, the Albanian international was the only striker recognized in the squad for a while this summer, before the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s deadline day pushed him to the bottom to the ranking.

Broja is aware of how difficult it will be to break into the first team, but he insists he feels “no pressure” to do it while doing what he loves.

“For me there is not a lot of pressure because I am playing football,” he said Thematic bulletin (through Sports witness).

“I have been playing football since I was 3 years old. I have no emotions. Play for fun, to win and to help the team. There is absolutely no pressure.

“I’m always in shape. I practice every day. We know it’s harder to get into Chelsea than to play for Southampton.

“Even here in Albania I train every day. Physically I’m fine ”.

But his chance to impress for Chelsea may come sooner than expected a report on Sunday stating that new manager Graham Potter was impressed with what he saw.

The 21-year-old is said to have “attracted the attention of Chelsea boss Graham Potter and is close to earning a starting spot.”

Broja “made a big impression in training” and the Chelsea boss Potter “could soon put him in the starting eleven” despite the presence of Aubameyang.

“Insiders” report that Potter “is excited about Broja’s potential and ability to adapt to his system” as he tries to “implement a pressing style of play”.

Broja’s Albania face Israel and Iceland in the Nations League, but the forward returns to Chelsea, who will face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday 1 October.
