Rashid Khan Broke His Leg During Lahore Qalandars Record Win In Psl

Watch: Rashid Khan produced a lacerating leg break to outwit Mubasir Khan in Lahore Qalandars PSL’s record 119-run win against Islamabad United on Thursday (9 March 2023).

Lahore Qalandars, riding Fakhar Zaman’s 115, had worked his way up to 226 in his allotted 20 overs. Islamabad United came under pressure from the start and Rashid piled further misery on them. After getting the better of seventh-placed Shadab Khan, the Afghanistan leg-spinner fooled Mubasir with a draw of a delivery. The ball was bowled a length onto an off stump and appeared to be drifting into the batsman. Once he pitched, however, he slipped away and completely fooled the batter. Mubasir played down the wrong line and saw the ball crash into the stump.

Alan Wilkins, who was on the commentary, praised Rashid, saying: “This man has a mystique. All over the world he practices his art of him. Mubasir bowled on the wrong line but you have to give this wizard of a bowler credit. Rashid ended up bagging a four wicket haul, which also included the scalps of Asif Ali and Faheem Ashraf. The leg-spinner’s heroics enabled Lahore Qalandars to win the match by 119 runs and cement their place at the top of the table.
