According to reports, Man Utd’s ‘mystery’ summer transfer budget will not be increased even if Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim buys the club from the Glazer family.

But they are still a long way from Manchester City, so Ten Hag will be looking to strengthen his squad this summer. A new striker and central midfielder should be pursued by the coach.
United’s long-term future is currently uncertain as they have been on sale since last November. INEOS’ Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are hoping to oust the Glazer family, but the current owners also have the interest of several potential minority investors.
Ten Hag remained coy earlier this week when asked if he had any assurances that he would be given funds to add to his squad.
«No, I have no influence on that… I also don’t know,» Ten Hag told reporters.
“The only thing I know is that Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world from a fan point of view. The club must compete for the highest in the world – Champions League, Premier League.
“But in football you need funds to build teams because, ultimately, the level of your players decides whether you are successful or not. Everyone knows that top-level players cost a lot of money.»

A report from The Athletic confirmed that «there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding United due to the sale process». But they reveal that Ten Hag’s so-called ‘mystery’ budget this summer will be ‘around £100m’. they explain.

As things stand, United have a budget of around £100m ($125.6m), due to financial fair play rules. This would be the case under the Qatari owners as well.
