Third seed Ons Jaber came close to her best in Friday’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix quarter-final, breaking down a quick fire from Beatriz Haddad Mia.
Jaber took just 68 minutes to dispatch the world number 14 with a 6-3, 6-0 first-round victory.
Tunisian Haddad Mia broke four times and won the last seven games.
He has made it to the semi-finals in Stuttgart for the first time!

Jaber was thrilled to have her best game and felt that everything was going her way and she didn’t need any feedback from her coach.
«I don’t think my coach can tell me anything for today,» Jaber said. She’s an amazing player, but I think I played my ‘A’ game today. I’m very happy with the way I played, especially in the second set because I was very relaxed and made the right choices.»
Jaber reached her third semifinal of the season, and this time her second on clay. Stuttgart will make their first appearance in the last four in 2022 after losing their last eight games.
The world No. 4 has now won seven consecutive WTA Tour matches, six of which were in straight sets. Her only loss was in her opening set in Stuttgart, when she came from a set down to beat Jelena Ostapenko.
In winning, Jabeur won 25, Haddad Maia a total of 11 times more. In addition, she hit five aces, Haddad Maia could not find a single on the board.
Jaber’s win over world No. 14 Haddad Mia was her 30th and third this year.
In the first game, 2-2, Jaber won 10 of 11 games and finished on top of the tournament.
After failing to convert either of Haddad Mia’s first two service games, Jaber needed to save at least two break points in the fifth game. Those two points were Jabir’s only break points of the match overall.
Jaber and Haddad Mia’s only previous meeting was in 2011. At the 2016 ITF tournament in Jue-les-Tours, France. At the time, both were ranked high outside the Top 100. WTA Rankings.
Jabeur now has a winning percentage of over 50% in WTA quarterfinals. She is now 17-16 in her last eight matches at this level.
