Does Andy Murray still play PlayStation? Want to appear on his own podcast? What is his favorite song at the moment?
Former World No. 1 Murray recently took part in a fan Q&A on the ATP Tennis Radio podcast at the Madrid Open, and as usual, some of his responses were surprising, funny and questionable.
Besides you, who is your kids favorite tennis player?
AM: “My kids don’t know tennis players. They never watch or follow them, unfortunately, so I don’t have an answer for that, maybe my brother. Maybe they only know another one,” he said.
Messi or Ronaldo?
AM: «Oh, that’s a good question. I think I should go with Messi after the World Cup.»
If you were stuck on an island with a tour guide, who would you choose and why?
AM: “I want someone intelligent to drive off the island, but I also want someone to entertain me, so I’m going with Gael Monfils. He’s a fun guy to be around, always entertaining, so I’ll take him. «
What is your favorite Beatles song?
AM: “I’m going to go with ‘Let It Be’, I really like that song.
Is there an undefeated title that you would like to win before you retire?
AM: «There are quite a few. The Australian Open is probably one of them. And the French Open. And Indian Wells on the tour. I’ve always loved the tournament and I’ve always enjoyed coming back, so yeah, on the ATP tour it’s probably been Indian Wells.»
Do you still play PlayStation and which games?
AM: “I haven’t played PlayStation in a good few years. So no, I don’t play anymore, sorry. I think I don’t have the time because I have kids, I can’t get away from spending 45 minutes on the PlayStation when the kids are around. They stop traveling with PlayStation and I don’t play.
Which Scottish food should I try?
AM: “I’m going to answer a different question. Which food should you try? It’s a bit of a myth, but it’s sold in our chip shop, it’s a fried Mars bar. It’s horrible.”
Think you’d like to come on a podcast for everyone?
AM: “I’m not a contrarian, I’ve never done a podcast before. I’m not a big guy… I don’t listen to a lot of people and I don’t like to talk about yourself that much. I never say never. let’s see.
What is your favorite album right now?
AM: “I don’t have a favorite album. I don’t listen to many albums, I listen to more songs. One of my favorite songs and one of the songs I’ve listened to a lot – I end up listening to a lot of children’s music – is Shakira’s song and the lyrics are ‘I’ll try everything’, I don’t remember the exact lyrics, but it’s my favorite Shakira song. ‘Try anything’ that’s it.
